National Capital Territory of Delhi

Delhi being the capital of the country is center of political activities. It was made a Union Territory in 1956. The 69th Constitutional amendment is a milestone in Delhi's history, as it got a Legislative Assembly with the enactment of the National Capital Territory Act, 1991. Its population is 13,800, 000 and area of 1483 sq km. It has seven parliametary seats in the Lok Sabha. Main languages are Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and English. Delhi is not only the capital of the country but it is also the main commercial center of northern India and a hub for small & large scale industries.
