Dadra and Nagar Haveli

The territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli was merged with the Indian Union on 11 August, 1961, and since then, it is being administered by the Government of India as a Union Territory. It is surrounded by Gujarat and Maharashtra. It has an area of 491 sq km and population of 220,490. It has one parliamentary seat in the Lok Sabha. Languages of the state are Gujarati and Hindi.
