Indian Union Budget 2009-2010

Budget Session of 15th Lok Sabha to Commence from 2nd July 2009

The Union Cabinet on 15th Jume 2009 decided to recommend to the President that the Budget Session of Parliament be held from 2nd July 2009 till 7th August 2009.


According to the schedule announced by the parliamentary affairs ministry, During the Budget Session of the parliament, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will present the Union Budget on July 6, and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee will present the Rail Budget on July 3.

This will be the first budget to be presented by the new UPA Government that took over on May 22. Earlier, the vote on account was passed at the week-long session of Parliament held from 2nd to 9th June.
